ONTARIO ♥ STRONG HABITAT REGULATIONS
What better way for the SOS Coalition to celebrate Valentine's Day 2009, than to share its love of Ontario's species at risk with our elected representatives?
Our special species at risk Valentine's Day cards were prepared lovingly and specifically for every sitting member of provincial parliament in the Ontario Legislature-107 in total. We made sure that every fast-track species was matched with a Cabinet minister, and every species was specially selected due to its geographic terrain or characteristics for the rest.
The SOS Coalition also invited all of its supporters to send in cards of their own. We wanted to remind our decision-makers that the time was fast approaching for the creation of 10 habitat regulations that would set a precedent for endangered species in Ontario, and in the rest of the world.
